Pirelli happy not to be the 'theme'

Paul Hembery is relishing the lack of criticism that has been levelled at Pirelli after a barrage last season. Pirelli's tyres were the hot topic of last season as in the early races they suffered high degradation and blow-outs while in the latter events, after altering the tyres, some accused them of favouring one team over others. In order to avoid another barrage of criticism, Pirelli "took a bit of a step back" this season, introducing tyres that are less aggressive. And so far it has paid dividends for the Italian manufacturer.
