Sir Jack Brabham dies at age of 88

– Three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jack Brabham has died aged 88. A statement from the Australian's family said that he passed away peacefully at his Gold Coast home on Monday morning. After claiming his first two world titles with Cooper, Brabham became the first driver in the history of the sport to secure a Formula 1 crown in a car of his own, having established the Brabham guise in the early 1960s. "It's a very sad day for all of us. My father passed away peacefully at home at the age of 88 this morning," explained son David Brabham on behalf of the family.
