Hamilton starts Monaco weekend on top

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest man during first practice at Monaco, narrowly edging out his team mate at Mercedes, Nico Rosberg. Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull turned out to be the closest competitor, little more than two tenths off. It was a busy morning for most in Monaco, with both Caterham drivers the most active out on track. Marcus Ericsson completed 40 laps during the 1.5 hour session while Max Chilton did only 7 laps, unable to rejoin the session after spinning off at Mirabeau. Adrian Sutil was the only man to literally end up in the barriers after crashing at Mirabeau as well.
