Rosberg signs two-year contract extension

Sutton Images Enlarge Mercedes has put an end to speculation linking it with a move for Fernando Alonso by handing a two-year contract extension to Nico Rosberg, according to the BBC. Rosberg's contract was due to end at the end of the current season but a team spokesperson said Mercedes has "long term relationships" with both its drivers. The deal comes in the same week as the comments of Dieter Zetsche, the chairman of Mercedes-Benz Cars, that Alonso is "maybe the best driver in F1".
