Formula 1 stars not high up on Forbes rich list

Top three earners in Formula 1 The only Formula 1 star to make it into the top 20  of the 2014 Forbes list of the world's highest-paid athletes is Lewis Hamilton, with Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso making it into the top 100. Hamilton is set to bank around $32-million this year of which $29 million is his salary from Mercedes and $3 million for endorsements, and although this makes the Briton the highest racing driver on the planet it is still way down on top earner Floyd Mayweather, the pugilist will bank a whopping $105 million.
