Lotus employee sacked over gay tweet

Lotus media man Stephane Samson has revealed that he was sacked by the team for "gross misconduct" relating to a Sochi Winter Games tweet. In the midst of the furor over Russia's stance on homosexuality, Samson, who tweeted for Lotus, posted a picture of two men kissing. It was accompanied by the message "ahead of the opening ceremony, we would like to wish all athletes a successful 2014 Olympic Winter Game." The tweet was soon deleted and an apology posted. Samson was sacked and was later informed that it was because of that tweet.
