Fernando Alonso bust speeding in the pitlane
Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has been ordered to pay 1000 fine for speeding in the pitlane during the first free practice day of the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, breaking the speed limit of 80 kph twice in succession.
During FP2 Alonso's Ferrari was clocked at 82.1 kph on the Red Bull Ring pit lane which earned him a 300 fine for his transgression. But ten minutes later he broke the speedlimit again as the radar clocked him at 86.8 kph which cost him a further 700.
The Spaniard ended third fastest and best of the rest, behind the dominant Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on the opening day of action at the Spielberg circuit ....
