Vettel retired to save mileage

The quadruple world champion ran into problems on the first lap when he lost drive but it returned on the following lap, though he was a lap down on the race leader. He later made contact with Esteban Gutierrez which resulted in another pitstop to replace his front wing. On lap 37 the team made the decision to retire the car to save mileage. “We stopped because we wanted to save some mileage.
