Guttierrez handed grid penalty; Vettel avoids punishment for collision

Esteban Gutierrez has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for the British Grand Prix after an unsafe release during Sunday’s race. The Mexican was penalised after he pulled away from his stop with just three wheels safely attached, coming to a halt in the pit lane itself before being recovered by his Sauber mechanics. As a part of the penalty, which is the same as that given to Daniel Ricciardo after his unsafe release in the Malaysian Grand Prix, Gutierrez was forced to serve a stop/go penalty during the race, on top of the ten-place grid drop that will come into effect following qualifying in Silverstone.
