Ferrari: Gaps are coming down

Ferrari know they are still far away from where they want to be, but team boss Marco Mattiacci is heartened by the fact that they are reducing the gaps to the front-runners. The Italian squad have been unable to match the pacesetting Mercedes so far this campaign, but there were encouraging signs in Austria with Fernando Alonso not too far behind the Merc powered teams during qualifying. The Spaniard went on to finish fourth behind the Merc pair of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, and Williams' Valtteri Bottas.
