Standing re-starts given the go-ahead

Standing re-starts will be implemented next season after the FIA ratified a number of rule changes for 2015. The World Motor Sport Council met in Munich on Thursday to discuss proposal for next season. Amongst those was the introduction of standing re-starts. The idea, who was first touted earlier this month, has been given the go-ahead. There will, however, be two exceptions. Standing re-starts will not apply if the Safety Car period is within the first two laps of the race or the last five. There are also changes to the testing regulations with three pre-season tests of four-days each to be held in Europe next season while in 2016 there will be just two four-day tests. Added to that,...
