STR, Renault cleared in engine test

Toro Rosso and Renault have reportedly been cleared of any wrongdoing after holding a recent indoor engine test. Earlier this month, reports emerged claiming that Renault had held a six-day test at the Austrian AVL facility. The French engine supplier allegedly ran a Toro Rosso on a rolling road in the windtunnel. Renault's head of trackside operations Remi Taffin downplayed the reports. "As far as we were concerned, it was to support Toro Rosso and try to get one more way to close the [performance] gap that we had at that point," he said.
