Pirelli showcases 18-inch tyre concept
– Pirelli has officially presented its 18-inch Formula 1 tyre concept at the post-British Grand Prix test.When it announced the plan last week, the Italian manufacturer insisted that it is not trying to force change, but made its view clear that a switch to lower profile tyres would bring Formula 1 closer to the road car industry.Journalists and photographers gathered in the Silverstone pit lane for a first-hand look at the proposed design at 09:20 local time (GMT +1) on Wednesday, the second and final day of this week's in-season gathering.The tyre will be trialled on the Lotus E22, with third driver Charles Pic behind the wheel.
