Before its deal with Vodafone expired at the end of 2013, McLaren said it would announce a new title sponsor in December last year but it has so far failed to materialise. At the start of this season team boss Ron Dennis said the car would "definitely feature a title sponsor at some time in the next few races", but as of the ninth round of the season at Silverstone no announcement had been made.
