Ericsson penalised for parc ferme violation

– Marcus Ericsson will start the German Grand Prix from the pit lane following a parc ferme indiscretion.Caterham failed to cover and seal the Swede's car within three and a half hours of Saturday afternoon's qualifying session ending at Hockenheim, as required by the current Formula 1 regulations.Ericsson must also serve a 10-second stop/go penalty in the opening three laps of Sunday's race."The reason for the dual penalties is to serve as a disincentive to a breach of Parc Ferme resulting in unsupervised access and significant extra time to work on a car between Qualifying and the Race," read a statement issued by the stewards.Ericsson was due to start from the back of...
