McLaren saw its hopes for big points fade away early on in the race when the team realised their made a wrong strategy call after getting a prediction for further rain. Still, despite this mishap, Jenson Button saved the day, getting a single point by finishing 10th. A 'misleading weather forecast' prompted the team to remain on Intermediate tyres while the rest of the field pitted behind the Safety Car for Options.
