De Silvestro: I'm ready for Formula 1

+ Sauber’s Simona de Silvestro believes she is ready to step up to a full-time drive in Formula 1 in 2015, if given the opportunity. The Swiss racer, who became the first female to finish on the podium in the unified IndyCar series at Hosuton last year, has tested Sauber’s 2012 car – the C31 – a number of times already this season, and says she is now ready to become the first women to start a Formula 1 race since Lella Lombardi in 1976. “If I do everything right, there's a good chance [of a seat],” Silvestro told F1 Racing. “I feel that now is the time, I wouldn't have made this jump if it didn't feel right or it wasn't a good opportunity.
