Rossi: Late replacement part of role

Alexander Rossi says the disappointment of being dropped by Marussia after FP1 for the Belgian Grand Prix is part of his role as reserve driver. Rossi was set to race in place of Max Chilton at Spa due to contractual issues for the Briton, but Marussia then announced during FP1 that Chilton had been reinstated and would be back in the car from FP2 onwards. While Rossi admitted he was disappointed with the situation, he said the experience of driving in FP1 and preparing for a race weekend had helped his development. “Overall I feel it has been a very positive couple of days,” Rossi said. “Obviously I am disappointed not to be racing this weekend.
