Mercedes reveals Hockenheim brake findings

– Mercedes and brake supplier Brembo say the "interaction between the brake material and braking mounting on the F1 W05" caused Lewis Hamilton's qualifying crash at last month's German Grand Prix.Hamilton hit the barriers in the opening Q1 phase at Hockenheim after suffering a front-right brake disc failure.The joint statement, issued on the morning of the Belgian Grand Prix, ruled out a quality control issue."First of all, both parties can now confirm that the quality of the disc material was not a contributory factor," it read."Instead, extensive analysis and experimentation has demonstrated that the specific interaction between the structure of the brake...
