Renault chassis passes crash tests

The new Renault chassis has passed FIA crash test homologation. Renault took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to announce that their new chassis has passed crash tests. Having just bought up the Lotus team, it's not yet clear whether Renault will continue the naming series of the Lotus team, which would make this the E24. Renault's last chassis, run in 2011 when it sold up to Lotus, was called the R31, which could mean this is called the R32. The French manufacturer's takeover of the Lotus team is complete, despite the team continuing to appear on social media as Lotus.
