Verstappen leads revitalised Red Bull charge

RESULTS: Malaysian Grand Prix – Qualifying results Max Verstappen admits he was surprised to find himself so close to Nico Rosberg in qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix as Red Bull impressed when it mattered at Sepang. Having trailed closest rivals Ferrari on Friday despite showing encouraging long run pace, Red Bull bolstered its single lap form in qualifying as both Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo comfortably hauled themselves onto the second row. With Verstappen getting to within a tenth of even usurping Mercedes' Rosberg to get onto the front row, he is keen to turn third place into a similarly strong result after troubled races in Belgium, Italy and Singapore.
