Schumacher fails to win German F4 title

© WRI2 Mick Schumacher was beaten to the German Formula 4 title by Australian Joey Mawson in the final round of the series in Hockenheim. Coming into the last race, Schumacher was trailing his rival by 39 points but Mawson secured the crown and put himslef out of reach by winning the first of the three races scheduled at the Hockenheim venue. The 17-year-old son of Michael Schumacher, competing in his second season of single-seater racing,  was forced to start 23rd after a scrutineering issue with his onboard fire extinguisher exclided the youngster from qualifying.
