Hamilton made an impressive start in FP1 for US Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap-time during Friday morning's opening practice session for the US Grand Prix, ahead of championship leader and Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg. The Brit completed a best lap time was 1:37.428 over the 20-turn, 3.4-mile COTA circuit. Rosberg, who leads Hamilton by 33 points, owned the second-best lap time about halfway through the session, a 1:37.743.
