Halo safety device ‘not needed' – Kvyat

United States Grand Prix – Daniil Kvyat believes that there is no need to introduce the ‘halo' safety device into Formula One after trialling the part during the opening free practice session. As part of an assessment into improvements in driver safety, many drivers have tested a piece of head protection equipment known as the ‘halo'. A slanted hoop is designed around the drivers head and attaches onto the rear of the headrest, with a single pillar being used at the front. The proposed addition to the car has been tested throughout the 2016 season, and the Russian was one of four drivers to test the device during the opening free practice session for the United States...
