©Wri2 The 1997 title-deciding weekend in Jerez saw three drivers post the exact same time in qualifying, with Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen all clocking a time of 1:21.072. Having set the benchmark first, Villeneuve was awarded pole position ahead of Schumacher, who was leading the championship by one point entering the event, with Frentzen lining up third on the grid. The race would go down in history as we shall see in tomorrow’s instalment of our Look back series.
