French Grand Prix return officially confirmed for 2018 F1 season

The French Grand Prix will return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2018, being officially announced at a press conference in Paris. Recent reports suggested F1 would return to France for the 2018 season, with a five-year deal now being confirmed. F1 raced at the Magny-Cours circuit from 1991 to 2008, but it will be the Paul Ricard track that will host the returning French GP. The circuit has previously held the event 14 times between 1971 and 1990, rotating with Charade and Dijon. The newly-announced deal for the French GP will bring it back to F1 after a 10-year absence from the schedule.
