Alonso laments first day of 'checking laps'
– Fernando Alonso says it is too early to judge McLaren's MCL32 after being restricted to "checking laps" on the first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.Alonso conducted a smooth filming day with new team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne on Sunday, but McLaren-Honda hit trouble when official pre-season testing began.An oil systems issue restricted Alonso to just one out/in lap in the morning, and he added just 28 more over the afternoon, at relatively slow speed."Today, with the proper tyres, we did 29 laps, but they were not quality laps, they were just checking laps, installation laps," said Alonso, who finished 10th out of 11 runners, over three seconds off the...
