Horner: F1 will get faster still

As Formula 1 closed in on the fastest lap time set at the Albert Park circuit on Day One, Christian Horner says it F1 will only get faster as the season progresses. Lewis Hamilton posted a 1:23.620 in Friday's second practice, which was two-tenths up on his pole position time from 2016. It was also less than a tenth slower than the fastest ever lap time set at the Melbourne circuit, Sebastian Vettel's 2011 pole time. And Red Bull team boss Horner reckons the teams have only begun to dip into the performance of the new 2017 cars.
