Palmer blames “terrible” car for poor qualifying

Australian Grand Prix – Jolyon Palmer has hit out against his Renault team after qualifying on the back row of the grid. The Brit had minimal track time on Friday with a broken gearbox seal on his car in FP1 before he crashed at the final corner in FP2, costing him his qualifying and race preparation. A further issue on Palmer’s car ahead of qualifying meant he only had enough time for one lap in Q1 which could not advance him beyond last. “We had a fuel surge on the first run, so I didn’t do a lap,” said Palmer. “My second lap was the first of the weekend on ultrasoft and to be honest the car was awful. “Yesterday the car was feeling good before I crashed, which was my bad,...
