The Mercedes driver was punished for slowing down Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo as the pair approached the pitlane when the Safety Car was deployed for a crash involving Lance Stroll and Carlos Sainz. Hamilton knew that he would be 'stacked' behind team-mate Valtteri Bottas after the Finn entered the pitlane first.
