Vasseur closing in on Sauber F1 team boss job

ART boss Frederic Vasseur is closing in on a team principal role at the Sauber F1 team after he was spotted at the Swiss outfit's Hinwil base on Thursday. The Swiss squad parted company with team boss Monisha Kaltenborn earlier this week, citing "diverging views" regarding the future of the team. Vasseur joins a list that includes others with recent experience of F1 team management, including the likes of former Manor men Dave Ryan and Graeme Lowdon, former VW motorsport boss Jost Capito and ex-F1 team boss Colin Kolles, although the last-named is understood to have indicated that he is not interested in the job.
