Fans will lose interest if Formula 1 becomes 'too safe' - Niki Lauda

Niki Lauda claims Formula 1 fans will begin to lose interest in the sport if the FIA's push for safety continues, claiming fans like an element of danger. Lauda, who was involved in a near-fatal accident at the 1976 German Grand Prix, is a strong critic of the Halo head protection device, claiming it is a step too far and one that will deter some of the sport's fan from tuning in.
