Carlos Sainz to replace Jolyon Palmer at Renault for remainder of 2017 season

Renault have confirmed that the Japanese Grand Prix will be Jolyon Palmer's last with the team, with 2018 signing Carlos Sainz Jr. moving across to replace him for the final four races of the season. Renault had been pushing for an early termination of Palmer's contract in order to run Sainz for the remaining races of the 2017 season. However the Briton refused, insisting he see out the year with the team. On Saturday, Renault confirmed that the two parties had agreed by 'mutual agreement' to split early.
