McLaren: Irreconcilable differences behind divorce

McLaren co-owner Mansour Ojjeh has likened the Woking team's split from Honda to 'irreconcilable differences in a marriage.' Last month McLaren confirmed that they would end their relationship with engine partner Honda after three disappointing years. Having finished the 2016 campaign in sixth place, McLaren-Honda had hoped to build on that this season. That, though, didn't happen. Instead their form slumped due to a lack of reliability and pace. As such the two parties agreed to part ways at the end of this season with McLaren teaming up with Renault for 2018 and Honda partnering Toro Rosso.
