Max Verstappen believes his qualifying performance at the United States Grand Prix was one of his worst of the 2017 Formula 1 season. The Red Bull driver went into qualifying at Austin facing a 15-place grid penalty due to engine component changes, and managed to advance from Q2 with the supersoft tyre, meaning he will be able to start the race on the more durable compound to help his chances of progressing from the back of the field.
