Vettel: No real secret Mercedes were faster
Sebastian Vettel has said it is "no real secret" Mercedes were faster than Ferrari at the United States Grand Prix after he lost out despite an early overtake on Lewis Hamilton. After missing out on pole position by less than two tenths to Hamilton, Vettel qualified ahead of Mercedes driver Bottas and looked competitive for race pace. Starting on the clean side of the track for the race Vettel initially got ahead of Hamilton but was unable to maintain the lead. Vettel felt it quickly became obvious Ferrari could not compete with Mercedes' pace and had to accept second place at the Circuit of the Americas.
