Alonso eyes ‘two or three' different races in 2018

Fernando Alonso wants 'two or three weekends' away from Formula 1 next year after getting his first taste of the Indianapolis 500. Even though a return to Indy is very unlikely in 2018, Alonso is still eager to compete in other racing disciplines and is continuing talks with McLaren about the possibility of doing so after agreeing a new deal to stay with the team. 'For me, I would race every weekend in any car in any country,' Alonso told Sky Sports F1. 'Obviously that would be difficult for McLaren to allow me to race every weekend, but I think two or three weekends on the year [I will race] in a different series.
