Lauda warns Mercedes F1 title defence will be tougher in 2018

While congratulating the Mercedes Formula 1 squad for fourth consecutive drivers’ and constructors’ world titles Niki Lauda has warned of an “even more difficult” challenge ahead in 2018. Despite seeing a Ferrari resurgence this season Mercedes stormed to both world championships with races to spare, sealing the constructors’ in the United States followed by Lewis Hamilton’s fourth drivers’ crown in Mexico, enabling an early focus switch to its 2018 preparations.
