Valtteri Bottas believes there is “less pressure” on his shoulders as he heads into his second year with Mercedes in Formula 1. Bottas competed for Williams between 2013 and 2016 and was drafted in by Mercedes for 2017, in place of the retired Nico Rosberg. Bottas emerged as a title contender during the first half of the year, taking his maiden pole (in Bahrain) and win (in Russia), but faded after the summer break, and placed third in the standings.
