Pirelli has confirmed which compounds it has made available for the French Grand Prix, which returns to the calendar after a ten-year absence. Circuit Paul Ricard will host Formula 1's return to France in June and a newly resurfaced track means lower tyre wear is likely. Pirelli has therefore made available the yellow Soft, red Supersoft and purple Ultrasoft – the same combination used at the season-opener in Melbourne. As per the rules, each driver must save one set of the softest of the three nominated compounds for Q3, in this case the Ultrasoft.
