Max Verstappen edges Carlos Sainz Jr. at Barcelona F1 test

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen posted the quickest time in Tuesday's opening day of Formula 1 in-season testing in Spain. Formula 1 has stayed on at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for two days of post-race running, with all 10 teams in attendance. Tuesday’s running took place in warm and dry conditions, with just one red-flag period, caused by Sauber’s Antonio Giovinazzi in the final 15 minutes. Verstappen’s time of 1:17.528 came during the final hour of action as he jumped ahead of ex-team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. by just 0.034s.
