Evans claims maiden Formula E pole for Jaguar, Vergne 17th
Zurich E-Prix – Mitch Evans claimed his and Jaguar Racing’s maiden Formula E pole position in Zurich, while series leader Jean-Eric Vergne was 17th. Evans topped the group qualifying session by over a quarter of a second, and produced a 1:12.811 in super pole to beat Techeetah’s Andre Lotterer, who put in his best qualifying effort of his rookie season, by 0.137 seconds. He takes three championship points for claiming pole. Championship leader Vergne described his qualifying lap as a “nightmare” as he struggled for pace and was almost three quarters of a second away from team-mate Lotterer in group qualifying.
