Sauber F1 driver Charles Leclerc ended up fastest in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the German Grand Prix. The rain-hit session saw Leclerc go half a second faster than his team mate, while most protagonists opted not to complete a timed lap. With the available number of wet weather tyres limited, and the risk of a crash so close to qualifying too big, more than half of the field limited their running to one or two installation laps, before sitting out the rest of the session.
