Giovinazzi hoping for 2019 Sauber seat

Antonio Giovinazzi has emerged as an outside contender for a race seat at Sauber for 2019. Rumours that Charles Leclerc will be leaving for Ferrari next season means a seat is available at the team and there is no shortage of names currently linked with the team. Speaking to media during the German Grand Prix weekend, Vasseur didn't dismiss rumours that the Italian was in the hunt for a race seat with the team for next season. "We will discuss the issue with Ferrari and then make a decision," he said. "It's important for Alfa Romeo that we achieve good results with two drivers who are best suited for our future."
