Mercedes boss calls for blue flag review

Toto Wolff Mercedes Formula 1 boss Toto Wolff has suggested rules surrounding the blue flags shown to backmarkers during a grand prix be reviewed. His comments come in the wake of the Singapore Grand Prix which saw Lewis Hamilton held up by Romain Grosjean as he battled with Sergey Sirotkin. The delay saw Hamilton's advantage over second-placed Max Verstappen evaporate, and provided the Red Bull driver an opportunity to make a move for the lead. Mercedes' second driver, Valtteri Bottas, also had struggles with traffic after finding himself behind Nico Hulkenberg but without the pace advantage to close within the prescribed distance for the Renault to be shown blue flags.
