F1 to choose between Pirelli and Hankook for 2020-23 tyre supply

Hankook has confirmed that its bid for the recent Formula 1 tyre tender has been approved by the FIA and has been submitted for Liberty Media to make the final decision. The FIA opened a tyre tender process for the 2020-23 period and two parties submitted bids, with Pirelli – the sole supplier since 2011 – one of them. Both Pirelli and Hankook’s bids have met the technical and safety standards required by the FIA and have been passed on to Liberty Media. Liberty Media will make the final call on the favoured party following detailed discussions, which will include commercial factors.
