Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have together been the gold standard in Formula 1 for more than a decade, setting a level of excellence out of reach of all their rivals. The two men share many characteristics - a world-class ability, incredible speed and matchless race-craft - but they are also different in important ways.
