Brawn: Alonso won less than his talent deserved

Sporting boss Ross Brawn believes that Fernando Alonso did not win 'as much as his talent deserved' in his long F1 career. The Spaniard won the World Championship with Renault in 2005 and 2006, but failed to clinch a third title in the years since. He missed out in the final race of the season in 2007 with McLaren, and in 2010 and 2012 whilst he was at Ferrari. He then made a return to McLaren, where he failed to pick up a single podium finish in his four years with the team.
