Kubica clips the wall on qualifying return

Australian Grand Prix – Robert Kubica tagged the concrete wall on his final qualifying lap, finishing twentieth overall in a disappointing start for the Grand Prix winner. With Williams struggling for pace in the opening stages of the season, their qualifying hour turned into a competition to see which of their drivers could avoid finishing at the foot of the timing screens. Team-mate George Russell set a target lap time of 1:24.360 on his final lap, but the Pole was unable to match his rookie team-mate after clipping the wall on the exit of turn ten.
