FIA confirms Giovinazzi set for 10-place grid penalty

The FIA has confirmed that Antonio Giovinazzi is set to take a 10-place grid penalty after moving onto his third control electronics element of the season. Reliability issues with the CE part issued by power unit supplier Ferrari in the early part of the year caused Giovinazzi to move onto his second element of the season in China. An updated part was issued by Ferrari over the Shanghai weekend, but was not taken by Alfa Romeo immediately, causing Giovinazzi to miss qualifying. The team has now introduced the updated CE part to both Giovinazzi and teammate Kimi Raikkonen’s cars for the Azerbaijan race weekend.
